Keats Birthday Read-a-thon, March 11, 2016
To celebrate Ezra’s actual birth date, we invited some of our favorite children’s authors and illustrators to New York’s top children’s bookstore, Books of Wonder, to read Keats stories to the second-graders of nearby P.S. 11. There were nine readers over three sessions, plus animated videos. All the readers signed books to present to the teachers, who also received a set of books by Keats, donated by Penguin Random House. The students left with Keats books of their own. For more on the event, read Publishers Weekly’s coverage here and here.
Books read: John Henry, The Trip, A Letter to Amy, The Snowy Day, Over in the Meadow, Peter’s Chair, Maggie and the Pirate, Regards to the Man in the Moon, Whistle for Willie
