Throughout his life Ezra remained a creator of fine art. Early in his career his paintings and sketches were purchased and displayed by his friends. Later his work was bought by lovers of fine art and many are now in private collections. Because Ezra earned his greatest renown through his children’s book illustrations, the public at large knows relatively little about his legacy of oil paintings, water colors, pen and ink, and pencil sketches.
